Her work is central to Skift’s market sizing and destination intelligence, providing the industry with a data-backed view of how travel is evolving globally.

Prior to joining Skift in 2022, Saniya spent over four years in hotel operations and hospitality consulting. She previously served as a consultant at HVS, where she specialized in hotel valuations and feasibility studies, and gained foundational operational experience with Hilton. Saniya holds a Master of Science in Global Hospitality Business from École hôtelière de Lausanne (EHL).

The Skift Travel Health Index now benchmarks performance year-on-year, moving away from the 2019 benchmark. In January 2024, the index stands at 114, a 14-point increase from January 2023, signaling continued resilience and expansion in the industry.
